Bonzi Wells has a sore back and wasn’t able to start the second half of last night’s game.
Wells later returned, but he didn’t play well in the loss to the Jazz.

Bonzi Wells has won the starting job at shooting guard over Mike Miller.
And Miller is even healthy. Coach Hubie Brown, just like last season, will go with a 10-man rotation comprised of two primary units. Miller joins Earl Watson, Shane Battier, Brian Cardinal and Stromile Swift on the second unit, though Swift will start tonight while Lorenzen Wright serves a one-game suspension. The regular starting lineup will be: Wright, Pau Gasol, James Posey, Wells, and Jason Williams.

Portland GM John Nash said he turned down a trade offer from an Eastern Conference team for Bonzi Wells. Nash also dispelled the rumor that had Wells and Rasheed Wallace headed to Dallas for Antawn Jamison and Michael Finley.
Nash said teams continue to contact the Blazers, but none of the scenarios have met Portland’s three-pronged policy of maintaining talent level, being financially responsible and addressing character issues. Expect the Blazers to remain at the center of a lot of trade rumors.

Bonzi Wells said something bad to coach Maurice Cheeks with 4:17 to play in the third quarter last night, and was benched the rest of the way.
''There is friction. You can write it,’' Cheeks said. ''That incident happened and we have to deal with it. I don’t have a concern with it. I’m going to deal with it, and then I’m going to put it aside.’' Cheeks was not yet sure what lineup he would send to the floor in Wednesday’s game. This latest incident could serve to speed up the many trade rumors which involve the Blazers.

Bonzi Wells sat out practice yesterday with a sprained right foot and is questionable for tonight’s game.
If Wells can’t play, Shane Battier will start at shooting guard.

Bonzi Wells practiced Thursday and is expected to play tonight after missing Tuesday’s game with a concussion.
Wells’ return could result in Earl Watson being a DNP-CD.

Bonzi Wells is looking for a fresh start in Sacramento, and is very happy to be there.
''It was almost like the best day of my life, like draft day, because I get a new chance to redeem myself, to show myself that I can do this on a consistent level without any kind of off-court things that get you off the track sometimes. I don’t want to go off the track no more,’' Wells said about finding out he was a King. Well said, Bonzi. He’ll get at least 30 minutes per game and could have a great year, if he can just out of trouble.

Free agent Bonzi Wells is reportedly talking with the Nuggets, but a deal isn’t likely.
The Nuggets are just $3 million from the luxury tax, and it would be tough to bring Wells on board without crossing that threshold. Wellls turned down a five-year, $36 million offer from the Kings, who then signed John Salmons to replace him.

Eric Musselman has flown to Las Vegas for a second interview with the Kings regarding their head coaching vacancy.
John Whisenant is thought to be the front runner for the job, but Musselman has a shot at it as well.

WNBA Monarchs’ coach John Whisenant appears to be No. 1 on Sacramento’s short list as a replacement for Rick Adelman.
“I had a good interview,” said Whisenant. “It was a good meeting. It was a general meeting, I assume, just like others they’ve (had). I don’t know beyond that whether they’ve got to interview other people or not. I was told none of that.”
