Chris Walker is close to signing a training camp deal with the Rockets, according to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.

While this is good news for the 20-year-old out of Florida, he’s a long shot to make the Rockets final roster and is more likely to spend time in the D-League this season. Fantasy owners can feel free to look elsewhere.

The Rockets have officially signed PF Chris Walker to a training-camp deal.

As expected, it’s a non-guaranteed deal for the minimum. There’s no reason to think Walker will make the team with Terrence Jones, Donatas Motiejunas and rookie Montrezl Harrell all occupying minutes at power forward.

The four players were let go by Houston toward the end of the preseason, but they’ll all be affiliate players in the D-League this year.
