Chris Whitney has started the last four games in place of injured Larry Hughes.
Gilbert Arenas plays shooting guard when Whitney is in the game. Hughes is expected back for the season opener, which will force Whitney to the bench, but it appears he’s at least pulled even with Steve Blake in the guard rotation. Juan Dixon may be left out.

Chris Whitney will be released tomorrow. He is expected to sign with the Magic.
``This is a win-win for all of us,’' Denver coach Jeff Bzdelik said after practice Tuesday. ``It looks like he’s going to a great situation for himself and it also gives us, for the balance of this year, time to really look at our younger players.’' Predrag Savovic will be activated once Whitney is taken off the roster.

Whitney is expected to clear waivers and sign with the Magic.
  • WAS Point Guard
Chris Whitney rejoined the starting lineup on Wednesday and had eight points and five assists.
Whitney should have a little fantasy value while starting, but don’t expect big things.
  • WAS Point Guard
Junior Harrington moved back into the starting lineup Wednesday in place of Chris Whitney, who went scoreless in 17 minutes off the bench.
Harrington had five points and three assists in 31 minutes. Neither of Denver’s point guards have any fantasy value at the moment.
  • WAS Point Guard
Chris Whitney is considering asking the Nuggets to waive him.
Whitney understands that the team wants to get good looks at Junior Harrington and newly-acquired Shammond Williams. Playing time will be at a premium, but Whitney, who will be a free agent after the season, feels like his stock will suffer if he’s not on the floor regularly.
  • WAS Point Guard
Chris Whitney was a DNP-CD tonight against the Grizzlies.
Perhaps the switch isn’t permanent, but it’s clear that Steve Blake is currently ahead of Whitney on the depth chart. The rookie had four points and eight assists in 19 minutes tonight.
  • WAS Point Guard
Chris Whitney was activated from the IL on Tuesday March 23.
  • WAS Point Guard
Chris Whitney was placed on the injured list today with right plantar fascitis.
He didn’t have much fantasy value anyway.
