Jones spent the season with the Texas Legends of the D-League. At 29 years old, he’ll be little more than a bench body for Golden State, which has dealt with a litany of injuries at the center position this season.

The two will play for the Florida Flame in Ft. Myers.

The 6-11, 250 pound center averaged 10 points, 11.6 boards and three blocks per game at St. Joseph’s last year and was undrafted because of knee problems.

Hassan Adams and Darius Rice were waived on Saturday, and Noel Felix and Anthony Tolliver remains on the roster as practice players.

This leaves his status for Sunday against Boston in doubt as well. Devin Brown will start in his place, while Ira Newble and Dwayne Jones should see some extra run. Yikes. LeBron’s owners just have to hope for the best on Sunday.

Jones came off the bench and was one of few players to step up in LeBron James’ absence, but isn’t likely to offer fantasy value going forward.

He had six points and 10 boards in his last game, and is making the most of some garbage time as the LeBron-less Cavs are suffering some blowouts.

This will probably be the only game of the season when the Cavs’ two D.Jones (Dwyane and Damon) each outscore all of Cleveland’s starters except LeBron. Damon Jones had nine points tonight as the Cavs lost by 22. Both players saw increased minutes, only because of the blowout.

They’re trying to get their roster cut down for the regular season and Jones wasn’t set to be a part of the rotation.

Devin Brown is also an unrestricted FA, but the Cavs’ top priority is re-signing restricted FAs Delonte West and Daniel Gibson. Beyond that, they aren’t likely to sign anyone without the benefit of a sign-and-trade scenario.
