After missing a practice with the flu, Earl Boykins is expected to play tonight.
He doesn’t have much value right now.
  • HOU Point Guard
The Nuggets should soon have free-agent point guard Earl Boykins signed.
Boykins would back up Andre Miller.
  • HOU Point Guard
The Nuggets are expected to announce the signing of Earl Boykins soon.
A five-year, $13.7 million contract has been agreed to, pending the results of a physical.

During the lockout, Earl Boykins has been working as an assistant coach for the Colorado Miners, an inner-city boys’ basketball team.
Boykins’ deal with the Bucks has expired, but it’s possible that he could still latch onto an NBA roster as a backup guard. The second-shortest person ever to play in the NBA, at 5'5", he’s no stranger to overcoming adversity.
  • HOU Point Guard
Earl Boykins will sign another 10-day contract with the Rockets on Thursday.
It’s unclear if Boykins will eventually be re-signed for the duration of the season, as that probably depends upon whether (or how soon) Kyle Lowry returns from his bacterial infection.
  • HOU Point Guard
Rockets signed Earl Boykins for the rest of the season.
The pint-sized point guard won’t carry any fantasy value.
  • NBA Point Guard #7
X-rays on Goran Dragic’s sprained ankle came back negative.
The Rockets are on a back-to-back, so there’s no shootaround updates Tuesday morning. Dragic insisted that he’ll be ready to go for Tuesday night’s game against the Mavs, but we’ll have to see how the ankle felt when he woke up. We’ll know more around 7:30 p.m. ET.

Earl Boykins didn’t waste any time after being signed by the Rockets to a 10-day contract on Monday, scoring 10 points on 2-of-6 shooting (6-of-6 from the foul line) with one rebound, five assists, and a steal in 22 minutes off the bench.
Should Goran Dragic’s ankle injury worsen overnight, then Boykins could have some spot-starting value on Tuesday against the Mavs. Dragic was pretty expressive about playing on Tuesday after the game.

Rockets agreed to terms with PG Earl Boykins on a 10-day contract, a source tells Yahoo.
With Kyle Lowry (bacterial infection) nowhere near a return and Kevin Martin (shoulder) also sidelined, the Rockets are desperate. The 5'5/133 Boykins has been out of the league all season, but did manage 7.2 points per game in 57 appearances with the Bucks last season. He’ll be support behind Goran Dragic and Courtney Lee.
  • NBA Point Guard #7
Goran Dragic sprained his ankle during overtime Monday and did not return, finishing with 14 points, four rebounds, 10 assists, a steal, a block and a 3-pointer in 31 minutes of an overtime win over the Kings.
X-rays taken were negative. Dragic was in a ton of pain at first and had to be helped off, but did appear to try to talk his way back onto the court. The problem is that ankle sprains often get worse overnight, leaving the super-sub questionable for Tuesday’s game in Dallas. Earl Boykins, who was signed to a 10-day contract Monday afternoon, finished out the game at point guard. Dragic did say after the game that it’s just a “minor sprain” and said he definitely expects to play Tuesday.
