The Bulls are trying to work out a buyout with Eddie Robinson, but talks have stalled.
Robinson continues to tell teammates that he wants all $14 million the Bulls owe him. Also holding up the talks is a growing belief Robinson wouldn’t be able to sign anything but a non-guaranteed contract with another team because of his injury-prone reputation.

The Knicks have emerged as “one of the front-runners” for the services of free agent small forward Eddie Robinson, according to a league source.
Robinson almost became a Knick as part of the Jamal Crawford trade last summer, but was not included when the Bulls decided they didn’t want Shandon Anderson. GM Isiah Thomas said over the summer he felt he could change Robinson’s career path. Robinson is expected to work out for the Knicks within a week.

Late in Monday’s loss, Robinson let Manu Ginobili shake loose and bury 3 straight 3-pointers, but coach Scott Skiles said it’s not the defensive lapse that has Robinson on the bench, suggesting that Robinson could help his status if he put in extra work. Even with Eddy Curry out, the Bulls will go with Antonio Davis, Jerome Williams, and Marcus Fizer over Robinson.

The Bulls still could trade the seventh pick in the draft, perhaps packaging it with Eddie Robinson in order to save money.
The Arlington Heights Daily Herald suggests that the Bulls could trade the No. 7 pick and Robinson to the Grizzlies for the No. 13 pick and Wesley Person. If the Bulls trade down, they’d feel more comfortable taking a point guard to replace Jay Williams.

Eddie Robinson has been working out with the Bulls in Illinois this week for the first time all summer.
Robinson had been refusing to return calls from team officials, so the Bulls fined him $50,000. The team would love to be able to trade Robinson, but they’ll probably keep him and use him as a reserve.
