On Thursday, the Hornets worked out Connecticut center Hilton Armstrong, N.C. State power forward Cedric Simmons, Wake Forest guard Justin Gray and Oral Roberts guard Larry Owens.
The workout was cut short because Armstrong injured his nose when Simmons accidentally elbowed him in the face. Coach Byron Scott said he was impressed with both Armstrong and Simmons, particularly raving about Armstrong’s leaping ability.

The New Orleans-OK City Hornets have taken center Hilton Armstrong with the 12th pick of the draft.
This was not a surprise, as the Hornets were desperate for a center, and Armstrong was the guy they targeted early on. With their lack of big men, he should see some solid playing time this year and will be a decent late-round fantasy pick this fall.

The Hornets signed center Hilton Armstrong, who they took with the 12th pick in the NBA draft.
Armstrong will receive $3.05 million for two years with the team holding an option for the third and fourth year.

The Clippers are searching for another big man and worked out D.J. Mbenga, Hilton Armstrong, Solomon Jones and Dan Gadzuric on Monday.
Whoever they sign, if any of these guys, won’t be worth owning in fantasy, but could help the Clippers defensively.

Nets GM Billy King praised Hilton Armstrong at the team’s free agent mini-camp.
“What I like about Hilton is he’s long and he knows how to play,” King said. “I think the biggest thing for Hilton is doing it consistently.” The No. 12 overall selection of the 2006 draft class is hoping to catch on with the Nets prior to training camp and has expressed excitement about potentially being on Brooklyn’s inaugural roster.

Hilton Armstrong will sign with Panathinaikos in Greece.
Armstrong was in for a workout with the Nets on Wednesday, so Brooklyn must have told him pretty quickly that the team was going in a different direction. Armstrong will receive a larger role overseas than he could ever garner stateside.

Greek team Panathinaikos is interested in Hilton Armstrong.
Armstrong, an unrestricted free agent, is hoping to return to the NBA next season after spending last season in France.

The Nets are working out Eddy Curry and Hilton Armstrong on Wednesday.
Brooklyn is looking to add a veteran center and small forward, but both Curry and Armstrong are likely vying for a training camp invite. Even if one winds up on the roster, neither will sniff fantasy value.

Hilton Armstrong will play in the D-League in order to attempt a return to the NBA.
Armstrong had signed in Greece in late August, but it appears he’ll try to use the D-League as a springboard back to the NBA instead.

Jermaine O’Neal is contemplating season-ending surgery on his right (shooting) wrist according to the Associated Press.
While that doesn’t sound great we’re pretty sure O’Neal wants to be along for the playoff ride, and as long as he’s not hurting the team he’s a solid bet to grind it out. The situation could ensure that Draymond Green gets 25 minutes per night going forward, and from there the Warriors will turn to Hilton Armstrong and Marreese Speights to backup Andrew Bogut.
