The lawsuit says Sampson shoved and kicked a former roommate, Christian Straughter, causing him to suffer a concussion and other injuries in February. The suit also accuses Sampson of later threatening Straughter, in an attempt to keep the alleged attack secret. His agent, Jerome Stanley, called the lawsuit “a classic shakedown by a jealous former friend.”

Sampson’s status for tonight’s game against Utah is unknown.

Sampson sprained his ankle in practice Tuesday and has been unable to play since. He will have an MRI to determine the cause of swelling and his inability to flex his ankle upward.

He’s been floating around the league for a few years now, and averaged 3.4 points and 5.3 rebounds in 23 games for Charlotte last season. He’ll have no fantasy value this year.

Turner sat out each of the Pacers’ two previous contests, but it looks like he’ll be ready to return to action this weekend, which will result in JaKarr Sampson being bumped back to the bench. We should have confirmation from the Pacers after Saturday morning’s shootaround.

Sampson, a 2002 second-round pick, played in just five games last season.

We’re guessing none of these contracts are guaranteed and that they’re simply camp invitees. Maybe one of them will make the final roster, and Sweetney would appear to have the best shot.

Sampson was a camp invite and never really had a chance to crack the opening day roster.

Sampson has been limited since the start of camp. Even if he gets healthy, he might start the season on the injured list.
