    Jazz sign F Joel Bolomboy.
It’s likely a make-good contract for training camp, though Bolomboy has drawn praise from Utah’s coaching staff for his work ethic and rapid improvement. That said, it’s hard to see him making a roster that already includes Derrick Favors, Trey Lyles and Boris Diaw.

The Jazz selected Joel Bolomboy with the 52nd pick on Thursday.
The Jazz traded away their draft picks with the George Hill trade and unloading a pick to the Nets earlier. Bolomboy is ripped at 6'9" and put up a 41-inch max vert at the combine. He’s a decent shooter and attempted 1.8 attempts from three with a 34.0 three-point percentage from there. The Ukrainian big man is buried on the depth chart, though.

Jazz F Joel Bolomboy had 14 points, nine boards, three assists and only one turnover in 24 minutes during Utah’s win on Wednesday.
Bolomboy is getting an extended audition during Summer League, and he finally found his groove tonight after shooting 7-of-21 in his first three games. The athletic power forward averaged a strong double-double while showing 3-point range with Weber State last season, but he’s not going to help fantasy owners with Derrick Favors, Trey Lyles and Derrick Favors on the roster.
  • Power Forward #24
Joel Bolomboy said two of the Jazz coaches told him he was in a similar position to Paul Millsap.
Well, the coaches are somewhat right with Millsap also being a second-round power forward. Millsap was in a much better position for minutes, but the 2016 No. 47 pick is buried on the depth chart. Bolomboy is an athletic freak and also a quick healer in college, failing to miss a game after he separated his shoulder in 2013. We’ll see what he can do in Summer League.
  • Power Forward #24
Joel Bolomboy is expected to make the 15-man roster in Utah following the trade of Tibor Pleiss to Philly.
His $600,000 salary for the 2016-17 season is fully guaranteed, so this isn’t a surprise. Bolomboy will be behind Derrick Favors and Trey Lyles on the depth chart, so he likely won’t be in the rotation on opening night.
  • Power Forward #24
Jazz assistant coach Mike Wells praised rookie Joel Bolomboy for improving steadily throughout Summer League, citing his work ethic and willingness to learn.
“Night and day,” Wells said, referring to the progress Bolomboy made in Las Vegas. “I thought that he came in with a lot of energy, not sure what to do and you just kept seeing somebody that was settling into the game ... He figured out how to play a little bit in kind of an NBA game.” In spite of Bolomboy’s improvement, he’s a longshot to make the regular-season cut after Utah restocked their roster with veterans this offseason.
  • Power Forward #24
Joel Bolomboy’s $600,000 salary for the upcoming season is fully guaranteed, meaning that he will likely be the 15th man on Utah’s roster.
The No. 52 overall selection of the 2016 NBA draft recently inked his three-year deal with the Jazz, and his signing will likely result in Chris Johnson and Tibor Pleiss getting cut at the conclusion of training camp. Jeff Withey could also be a cut-candidate for the Jazz, but Pleiss seems a bit more likely to go as the Jazz have been “disappointed” with his performance in both games and practices. None of these guys are on the fantasy radar in any setting.
  • Power Forward #24
The Utah Jazz announced that the team has recalled forward Joel Bolomboy.
Bolomboy has appeared in two games for the Jazz this season, averaging 1.5 points, 0.5 rebounds and 0.5 blocked shots in 2.6 minutes per game. He is not on the fantasy radar.
  • Power Forward #24
Jazz rookie Joel Bolomboy scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds in 26 minutes of action on Wednesday, adding one assist, one block and one turnover.
Bolomboy was drafted No. 52 overall this year but he stands a good chance to make the roster, even if he’s just emergency depth. His athleticism was on full display tonight and dynasty owners should at least keep him on the radar.
  • Power Forward #24
Jazz assign Joel Bolomboy to D-League.
Bolomboy will now join the Salt Lake City Stars and continue to be off the fantasy radar.
