Trey Murphy (ankle) and Dejounte Murray (hand) are out for Sunday’s game against the Timberwolves.
Murphy and Murray remain sidelined for the Pelicans’ final game of the season. Jeremiah Fears has benefited most in terms of playing time and scoring opportunities, with Jordan Hawkins’ playing time also increasing off the bench.
  • NOP Guard-Forward #41
Saddiq Bey (rest) and Herbert Jones (rest) are out for Friday’s matchup with the Celtics.
Bey and Jones will join the rest of New Orleans’ regular starters and Karlo Matković (back) on the bench, as the Pels will have to turn to Jeremiah Fears, Derik Queen, Jordan Hawkins and Micah Peavy to shoulder the load.
  • NOP Guard #24
Jordan Hawkins amassed 25 points (11-of-16 FGs), six rebounds, four assists, three steals and three three-pointers in Tuesday’s win over the Jazz.
Hawkins was one of many Pelicans players who played extended minutes on Tuesday due to the team’s loaded injury report. And the third-year guard took advantage of the opportunity, recording a season-high point total and finishing a block shy of a complete stat line. With the Pelicans having two more games on their schedule, these are important opportunities for Hawkins to show he’s worth giving a chance to earn rotation minutes next season.
  • NOP Guard #24
Jordan Hawkins (illness) is available for Tuesday’s game against the Jazz.
Initially questionable due to illness, Hawkins is available. With the Pelicans planning to hold out Herb Jones, Hawkins should play rotation minutes against the Jazz.
  • NOP Guard #15
Jose Alvarado (oblique) is out for Friday’s game against the Wizards.
Alvarado appeared to tweak something during Tuesday’s loss to the Lakers, but he was still on the floor in crunch time. The point guard’s sore oblique will keep him out for at least one game, likely resulting in more minutes at point guard for Jordan Poole. Jordan Hawkins could enter the rotation, but there’s no need to stream him.
  • NOP Forward #2
Herb Jones (ankle) has been ruled out against the Hawks on Wednesday.
Jones made his return from a seven-game absence on Tuesday, so it isn’t shocking that he’ll miss the second night of the back-to-back. With both Jones and Trey Murphy (back) out, there will be plenty of wing minutes open for Bryce McGowens, Micah Peavy and Jordan Hawkins.
  • NOP Forward #25
Mark Haynes of the Sacramento Observer reports that Trey Murphy (back) will not play in Friday’s game against the Trail Blazers.
Add Murphy to the list of Pelicans starters who will not be available for Friday’s game. His absence should result in more opportunities for Micah Peavy and Jordan Hawkins, but fantasy managers should not feel obligated to stream either. On a 10-game night, there are likely to be safer streaming options on the waiver wire.
  • NOP Forward #25
Trey Murphy (back) is questionable to play against the Trail Blazers on Friday.
New Orleans is already set to be without Saddiq Bey (hip) and Derik Queen (quad), and they could miss another start in Murphy. Jordan Hawkins and Micah Peavy should be in line to play big minutes, especially if Murphy is unavailable.
  • NOP Guard #3
Jordan Poole (ankle) is available for Friday’s game against the Suns.
Poole is back after a one-game absence, which will likely result in fewer minutes for Jordan Hawkins and Micah Peavy. Despite Herb Jones (ankle) being out, Poole will come off the bench, leaving Bryce McGowens in the starting lineup.
  • NOP Guard #3
Jordan Poole (ankle) is probable to play against the Suns on Friday.
Poole was initially questionable, but he is now expected to return from a one-game absence. Jordan Hawkins and Micah Peavy took on extra minutes with Poole sidelined, but that won’t continue with Poole likely back to take on Phoenix.
