Raptors signed G Justin Dentmon to a 10-day contract.
ESPN’s Marc Stein had previously reported the move was coming, and this makes it official. He was averaging 22.8 points per game in the D-League and will get a look in Toronto.

Jose Calderon (eye) will not dress for Friday’s game against the Cavs.
Calderon left Wednesday’s game after getting an elbow to the face and had to receive stitches as a result. Owners need to make sure he’s sitting on the bench, and both Ben Uzoh and the newly-signed Justin Dentmon should both see extended minutes in his absence.

ESPN’s Marc Stein reports that the Raptors are “lining up” a callup of Justin Dentmon by the end of the week.
Ben Uzoh’s 10-day deal is set to expire in the coming days with the Raptors, so this could be a sign that he won’t be back. Dentmon is currently back with the Austin Toros after playing briefly with the Spurs, but it sounds like he’ll return to the NBA shortly.

Jose Calderon (eye) did not participate in shootaround and is a game-time decision against the Celtics on Friday.
There was a report that Calderon could have returned to the game on Wednesday if he had to, but he didn’t practice on Thursday and missed shootaround on Friday. It sounds like Calderon will be a true game-time call. Justin Dentmon, who played 21 minutes on Wednesday, is a candidate to see a ton of minutes if Calderon can’t play.
  • DET Point Guard #81
Jose Calderon (eye) has been ruled out for the Raptors game on Friday against the Celtics.
With Calderon out, Ben Uzoh will start and it looks like Justin Dentmon will be in line for an increase in minutes. In 21 minutes on Wednesday, Dentmon had five points, three rebounds and two assists. Neither Uzoh nor Dentmon is an option except in very deep leagues.

Jose Calderon (eye) is listed as the probable starter for Friday’s game against the Celtics.
Calderon did not practice on Thursday, but beat writer Doug Smith has a firm pulse on all things related to the Raptors. We previously passed along the news that Calderon could have returned to the game on Wednesday if it was absolutely necessary, so we’re cautiously optimistic that he’ll be out there on Friday.

    Spurs released PG Justin Dentmon.
Dentmon will likely rejoin the Austin Toros of the D-League. With Tony Parker’s hamstring healthy, the undrafted rookie out of Washington isn’t needed.

Jose Calderon (eye) did not practice Thursday and is listed as day-to-day.
Calderon said he could have come back into Wednesday’s game after taking a head-bump, but the missed practice leaves some doubt here. Consider him very questionable for Friday’s game against the Celtics. With Jerryd Bayless (hip) done for the season, Justin Dentmon logged 21 minutes Wednesday.

Jose Calderon took three stitches above his right eye on Wednesday and didn’t return to the game, finishing with nine points, four assists and a 3-pointer in 22 minutes.
He missed a game on Friday with a similar injury to the same eye and should be considered day-to-day for now. The Raptors host the Celtics on Friday, and little known Justin Dentmon, who is playing on a 10-day contract, would likely get the start if Calderon is out.
  • Point Guard #7
Justin Dentmon, playing on a 10-day contract, played 21 minutes to finish with five points, three rebounds, two assists and a 3-pointer on 2-of-3 shooting in a loss to the Sixers.
He was filling in for Jose Calderon, who left early after suffering a new cut near his already banged up right eye. Calderon is a little iffy for Friday’s game, meaning Dentmon could be in line for a start on Friday.
