Keith Bogans beat out DeShawn Stevenson to back up Cuttino Mobley at shooting guard in Orlando.
The Magic would like to trade Stevenson, who is under contract at $8.5 million for three years, for draft picks. Bogans won’t have any value, as Mobley has been near the top in minutes played each of the last two seasons.

Keith Bogans will spend the rest of the season as the Hornets’ starting small forward.
Bogans shouldn’t be worth owning even while starting.
  • POR Small Forward #46
The Magic intend to increase the playing time of rookies Keith Bogans and Zaza Pachulia.
The folks in Orlando know the season is lost and want to develop their young second-round players. They said nothing about first-rounder Reece Gaines, however.

The Hornets have reportedly pulled an offer to Keith Bogans off the table.
Bogans, a shooting guard, is a restricted free agent, and while the Cats can match any offer he receives, that doesn’t seem likely now. They’re already committed to shooting guard Kareem Rush and want to re-sign Gerald Wallace, Matt Carroll and Jason Kapono -- who can play shooting guard or small forward.
  • CHI Shooting Guard
Nets signed G Andre Emmett to a 10-day contract.
Emmett will serve as depth on a banged-up New Jersey team. The Nets waived recently injured Keith Bogans to clear a roster spot.

    Nets waived G/F Keith Bogans.
Bogans underwent successful surgery to repair a fractured left ankle and torn deltoid ligament before getting released. He’ll look to latch on with another team for the 2012-13 season.

Ronnie Brewer is comfortable in a bench role with the Bulls, but he hopes to fight for the starting SG job.
Keith Bogans started every regular season and playoff game for Chicago last year, and they have made no secret of their desire to upgrade at SG. Brewer isn’t likely to land the starting gig and his fantasy value is limited as a bench option.

    Nets signed G/F Keith Bogans.
Bogans started all 82 games for the Bulls last season, but averaged less than 20 minutes per game and was released prior to this year beginning. He’s found a good place to latch on with all of the injuries on New Jersey’s roster, but he’s unlikely to accrue consistent fantasy value in standard sized leagues.

    Nets waived F Larry Owens.
Owens was waived to make room for the newly signed Keith Bogans. He’s a candidate to head back to the D-League in the hopes of earning another promotion to the NBA.

Due to the lockout, the Bulls haven’t had to decide whether to exercise their $1.7 million option for Keith Bogans.
The option is fully unguaranteed, and it sounds like the deadline has been extended indefinitely, so Chicago isn’t in any rush.
