The Knicks have hired Larry Johnson as a basketball and business operations representative.
It’s an interesting title for a player famously known as Grandmama. Johnson is certainly well known in New York by Knicks fans, and now we’ll all get to see what he provides in a front office role. He’s expected to speak with the media before Sunday’s Knicks game.

Larry Johnson was interested in joining the Bulls as an assistant, but it doesn’t sound like it’s going to happen.
"(Johnson) was interested but, at this point, I don’t think it’s a possibility any longer,” Thibodeau said on WMVP-AM radio Friday. We’re not sure why Thibodeau’s not interested in hiring Grandmama, but the search is still on for Pete Myers’ replacement.

The Bulls have talked to former No. 1 overall pick Larry Johnson about becoming an assistant coach under Tom Thibodeau.
Terry Porter is another possibility for the Bulls, and while we haven’t heard much from ‘Grandmama’ since he retired in 2001, when he and Thibodeau were both with the Knicks during the Jeff Van Gundy era, it would be nice to have him back in the league.
