Lampe

Lampe’s best position at the moment is small forward, and he’s gotten attention for his outside game. Dominant centers are rare finds in the Eastern Conference, however, so the 6'11'’ rookie will be used there. Coach Don Chaney hasn’t determined whether Lampe is ready for the rotation.

Lampe has been limited by shin splints, preventing him from making much of an impact.

Lampe, who fell to the second round of the draft because of contract buyout issues, is likely to sign with the Knicks in time to play this season. It appears as if the team won’t be spending all of its $4.9 million exception and can use part of it to sign Lampe so he can afford to pay his contract buyout which is being negotiated down from $2 million.

Lampe probably isn’t going to be much of a factor this season, but he does have plenty of potential. Someone to watch.

Lampe has no value with the ultra-deep Suns.

He has no value when healthy.

He was hurt for much of last year, and we’re not expecting anything from him this year, but this game is worthy of some attention over the next two weeks. Jamaal Magloire didn’t play tonight, so P.J. Brown started at center, with Lampe taking over power forward duties.

He was out with a toe injury, but should be fine. Whether he has fantasy value or not this year remains to be seen.
