The Spurs have waived forward Malik Hairston.
He averaged 3.3 points and 1.9 rebounds in 15 games for the Spurs, so this transaction shouldn’t have any significant ramifications in fantasy leagues.

According to the San Antonio Express-News, perhaps no Spurs player improved his stock at the Las Vegas summer league more than swingman Malik Hairston.
The Spurs signed Hairston on July 8, but that doesn’t mean he’ll make the team. He dominated the D-League last season and earned a handful of callups. If the Spurs think Hairston can fill a role on the wing behind Richard Jefferson and Michael Finley, free agent Ime Udoka may end up with another team.
  • SAS Power Forward
The Spurs have signed former first-round pick forward Marcus Haislip.
He spent the past two years in Spain after being taken with the 13th pick by the Bucks in 2002. The Spurs also announced they re-signed forward Malik Hairston, who played in 15 games for them last year.
  • SAS Small Forward
The Suns drafted Oregon forward Malik Hairston with the 48th pick of the draft.
He’s a decent shooter and not a great athlete, but has a good basketball mind. He’s also a good rebounder and might have a shot at a career as a role player.

The San Antonio Spurs acquired the draft rights to forward Malik Hairston, Golden State’s 2009 second-round pick and cash considerations from the Phoenix Suns in exchange for the draft rights to guard Goran Dragic.
Hairston, a shooting guard from Oregon, was taken 48th overall in the draft Thursday night. Dragic, a point guard from Europe, was chosen three picks before Hairston.

Malik Hairston will leave the Spurs’ D-league affiliate to meet them in Salt Lake City for Monday’s game against the Jazz.
The Spurs are reacting to the injury of Michael Finley, and it looks like Hairston will have a cup of coffee at the NBA level. While nothing is certain, he’s probably going to be activated, but he is a longshot for fantasy value.

Malik Hairson had a career-high 16 points off the bench in Friday’s blowout of the Warriors.
Don’t read anything into this as the Spurs rested their regulars for virtually the entire game.
  • POR Small Forward #46
Keith Bogans tweaked his ankle during Monday’s game, but returned to finish with one point and one rebound in 19 minutes.
The veteran defensive specialist was replaced by Malik Hairston (four points, five rebounds in 26 minutes), though neither guy has fantasy value. We’re assuming Bogans’ injury won’t jeopardize his status for Wednesday’s game vs. Houston.
  • SAS Small Forward
The Spurs have sent swingman Malik Hairston back to their NBA Development League team in Austin, Texas.
Hairston appeared in 21 games and averaged 3.5 minutes per contest with the Spurs this season.
  • SAS Small Forward
The Spurs recalled forward Malik Hairston from the D-League to replace the active roster spot held by Tony Parker, who is out indefinitely with a hip flexor injury.
Hairston obviously doesn’t have value in fantasy leagues, but if you like to read into things -- the fact that the Spurs have moved a guy out of the D-League so quickly may be an indication that Parker won’t just miss Sunday’s game.
