Free agent F Marcus Williams is finalizing a deal with the Jilin Tigers in China.
Williams signed with the Nuggets last season but didn’t play in any games, and he hasn’t seen any NBA action since the 2008-09 season with the Spurs. He’s a former MVP of the Chinese Basketball Association, but the CBA also banned him for six months after he tested positive for marijuana in 2013. It’s more than likely that his NBA career has concluded.
  • DEN Power Forward #22
The Spurs selected forward Marcus Williams out of Arizona with the 33rd pick in the draft.
Williams could be a steal for the Spurs, given the upside he offers on the defensive end of things.
  • DEN Power Forward #22
The San Antonio Spurs on Saturday announced that they have signed their second round pick, Marcus Williams.
Considered an energy player, Williams played two years at the University of Arizona, and was an All-Pac 10 player last season when he averaged 16.6 PPG and over 6 RPG. He’s a solid defender, but won’t likely have much value off the Spurs’ bench considering how deep their reserves go.
  • DEN Power Forward #22
The Spurs waived forward Marcus Williams on Saturday, three days after signing him.
Williams appeared in one game with the Spurs, playing two scoreless minutes in Wednesday’s game against the Bulls. He’ll probably end up playing in the Developmental League in the near future.
  • DEN Power Forward #22
The Spurs announced the signing of rookie forward Marcus Williams on Wednesday.
Terms of the contract were not disclosed. Williams averaged 18.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 35.3 minutes through nine games while with the Austin Toros of the D-League.
  • DEN Power Forward #22
The Spurs have signed guard Marcus Williams.
This Marcus Williams is not to be confused with the Marcus Williams who was in Don Nelson’s doghouse in Golden State for most of this season. The one thing that both players have in common is that neither has any fantasy value.
  • LAC Power Forward
The Clippers extended qualifying offers to forwards Nick Fazekas and Marcus Williams on Monday, making both players restricted free agents.
Fazekas averaged 4.1 points and 3.4 rebounds in 26 games for the Clippers last season, while Williams averaged less than one point in 11 games for the Clippers and Spurs. Neither player should elicit many (or any) offers from other teams.
  • Power Forward #57
Hornets big man Hilton Armstrong had 25 points and eight rebounds against the Clippers on Thursday.
Armstrong helped New Orleans overcome a strong performance from LA’s Marcus Williams, who finished with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Unfortunately these numbers are Summer League-only, and guys like Williams and Armstrong shouldn’t have any value during the regular season.
  • DEN Power Forward #22
On Friday, the Los Angeles Clippers signed forward Marcus Williams for the remainder of the season.
Williams, not to be confused with the Nets guard of the same name, averaged 19.2 points and 4.7 rebounds per game while paying in the NBADL this season.
  • MIA Power Forward
The Charlotte Bobcats have added forwards Marcus Williams and Andre Brown and guard Donell Taylor to their training-camp roster.
All three players have an outside shot at making the final roster after playing in the NBA last season. Brown may have the most upside, and even flirted with having fantasy value at times with Memphis.
