Maryland PG Melo Trimble has withdrawn from the NBA draft and will return for his junior season with the Terrapins.
Trimble had an indifferent draft combine and was reportedly advised to return to college to improve his stock. He worked out for at least four NBA teams in recent weeks, but also had a few workouts canceled for unknown reasons. Another strong third season in the NCAA could ensure that his name is called during the 2017 draft.

Melo Trimble has agreed to a free-agent deal with the 76ers.
The undrafted guard out of Maryland averaged 16.8 points, 3.7 assists, 3.6 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 1.8 3-pointers during his junior season, shooting 43.6 percent from the field and just 31.7 percent from deep. He’s not the biggest guard at 6'2" and didn’t impress at the combine, but he will hoping that a strong Summer League showing will help him stick around in Philly.

Melo Trimble has agreed to a partially guaranteed contract with the Timberwolves.
Trimble suited up for the 76ers at Summer League where he recorded averages of 10.3 points and 1.3 steals per game in 13.7 minutes a night, and now he’ll try and make an impression with the Wolves over the course of training camp. Minnesota has room on the roster, so maybe he’ll be able to make the regular-season squad as the third-string point guard, but he won’t have any value in fantasy hoops while the team is at full strength.

    Timberwolves waive G Melo Trimble.
Trimble couldn’t carve out a role for coach Tom Thibodeau during the preseason, and we’re unlikely to see him in an NBA rotation this season.
