The Cavaliers signed undrafted rookie C Michael Eric to a non-guaranteed three-year contract on Friday.
The first year of Eric’s deal has a partial guarantee and the last two years are non-guaranteed. Eric, 24, averaged 9.0 points and 8.8 rebounds as a senior at Temple, but a knee injury cost him any chance of him being drafted. Eric averaged 4.0 points and 3.8 rebounds in the summer league with the Cavs and impressed the coaching staff with his defensive energy. He is not guaranteed a spot on the Opening Night roster and may end up just being camp body.

Michael Eric will sign with the Canton Charge in the D-League.
Eric was waived at final cuts by the Cavs, but he passed up some offers overseas to head to the D-League.
  • Small Forward #50
The Cavs waived Micheal Eric, Kevin Jones and D’Aundray Brown on Saturday.
The Cavs have their roster rest to go for the season. None of these three players have much of a chance to make an impact with the big clubs this year.

The Cavaliers waived undrafted rookies Michael Eric, Kevin Jones and D’Aundray Brown on Sunday.
The moves trimmed Cleveland’s roster to 15 players, but the Cavs still intend to bring all three guys to their D-League affiliate, where they can develop in the hopes of an eventual call-up.

Michael Eric has agreed to a deal with Bilbao Basket in Spain.
He was invited to the Wizards’ training camp after a strong summer league, but the big man was looking for guaranteed money.

The Bucks have released C Michael Eric.
The Bucks have a pretty crowded frontcourt, and simply didn’t need Eric on the roster. He’s likely bound for the D-League or overseas, either way, he’s irrelevant with regards to fantasy.
  • MIL Center #50
Free agent Michael Eric has signed a minimum-salary deal with the Bucks.
He’ll join Milwaukee for training camp but is unlikely to make the team, as the Bucks’ frontcourt already features Ersan Ilyasova, John Henson, Larry Sanders, Zaza Pachulia, Johnny O’Bryant, D.J. Stephens and Chris Wright.
  • Shooting Guard #59
The Bucks have added F Elijah Millsap and C Michael Eric to their training camp roster.
Elijah is Paul Millsap’s younger brother, but thus far he’s been unable to get a foothold in the NBA. He’s played extensively in the D-League over the past three years, in addition to stints in the Philippines and Israel.
