Pietrus

Pietrus is still recovering from arthroscopic surgery on July 21. He will probably start practicing about mid-November.

The 22-year-old isn’t expected to miss any time. He’s a big part of the Warriors’ future, but shouldn’t have much value this season.

He’s day-to-day, but is expected to play Friday. The Warriors have been giving him more minutes and looking to him increasingly as a scoring threat.

He may be able to go tonight, allowing Jason Richardson another day of rest.

He score 10 points in 21 minutes Friday night, but don’t look for his playing time to increase.

Calbert Cheaney will be Jason Richardson’s top backup. Don’t expect Pietrus to make much of a contribution this season.

The No. 11 pick in June’s draft is expected to miss 3-5 games with the injury.

Mike Dunleavy ran the offense from the point. Pietrus played just 15 minutes and did not score.

Pietrus is out indefinitely after a scary fall that had him carted off on a stretcher. The swingman is still suffering from concussion symptoms at this time, and baseline testing can’t start until he’s symptom-free. Avery Bradley and Keyon Dooling will both likely continue to see increased time with Pietrus sidelined.

Pietrus is having issues with his surgically-repaired knee. With Rajon Rondo (back) and Ray Allen (ankle) also out, the Celtics will start a backcourt of Avery Bradley and Sasha Pavlovic once again.
