The Jazz don’t have any PGs with guaranteed contracts for the 2013-14 season, and they also took a look at South Dakota State PG Nate Wolters. It’s very possible that a rookie will be holding the keys to the Jazz offense next season, and Utah’s backcourt will be under a microscope throughout training camp and the preseason.

Kabongo couldn’t even make the Canadian nation team and appeared to be headed to Europe this season, but the Spurs are set to bail him out. They constantly take unknowns and turn them into quality NBA role players and that is probably their plan for Kabongo.

Kabongo played for the Heat’s summer league team but went unsigned after that. The former Texas Longhorn could return to the league next year with some more experience under his belt.

Kabongo was one of the highest-rated players not to be selected on Thursday night. He lands in a nice spot as Miami is in need of a third point guard behind Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole. Still, it’s hard to see a guy that saw 13 point guards go ahead of him crack the final roster.
