Who leads the NBA in PER this season?

It’s not Russell Westbrook (32.4) or Anthony Davis (32.0).

Eric Moreland tops the list at 41.6.

Of course, that’s trivia, not analysis. The Kings rookie has played just two minutes in three games.

Unfortunately, we won’t get to see what the shot-blocking specialist can do over a larger sample.

Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders:

Announcement: ProBasketballTalk’s partner FanDuel is hosting a one-day $150,000 Fantasy Basketball league for Thursday’s NBA games. It’s just $25 to join and first prize is $20,000. Starts at 8pm ET on Thursday. Here’s the FanDuel link.

The injury is actually good news financially for Moreland.

Prior, he had just $200,000 of his $507,336 salary guaranteed, and he’d already earned $199,950 by staying on the roster this long. Now, as a result of the injury, the full salary is guaranteed.

The final two years of his deal remain unguaranteed, so Moreland will have to prove himself during the offseason and preseason for Sacramento to bring him back. But at least he’ll be around the rest of this year, which was no guarantee until now.
