LeBron, Wade, ‘Melo homecoming tour now just one game
The summer (and fall) of NBA charity games has come to an end… but not without at least one more.
The “homecoming tour” to be anchored by LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony has been cancelled, to be replaced by one game in New York this Tuesday.
Games in Akron, New Orleans and Chicago have been cancelled. The fourth game was to be in East Ruthaford, New Jersey, but now that market gets a thrown together game Tuesday night.
The reason is the NBA labor deal, obviously.
“We are thrilled that a tentative agreement has been reached and are looking forward to getting back to work and playing basketball,” Wade said in a released statement. “We all want to reconnect with our teams to make sure we hit the ground running when training camps are expected to open on December 9. Our commitment to helping children and the communities doesn’t stop, and the daily work of our foundations to do just this will continue, as always.”
