Goran Dragic appeared to slap Cory Joseph late in the Heat’s Game 4 win over the Raptors.
There was no call on the floor, but the NBA issued a retroactive ruling: technical foul on Dragic.
The timing of the decision is huge. With the call coming late, Toronto didn’t get the technical free throw. An extra free throw late in regulation very well could’ve made the difference in a game that went to overtime .
Of course, Miami – and the Raptors, for that matter – would’ve played differently if Toronto went up three instead of two with 2:17 left in the fourth quarter. But, undoubtedly, a team up two with a free throw coming is in better shape than a team up two without a free throw coming.
