The Lakers waived David Nwaba — who had been playing on their Las Vegas Summer League team — to make way for the Kentavious Caldwell-Pope signing. The Lakers like Nwaba, he was called up from their D-League team in late February last season and earned his way into the rotation, but sacrifices had to be made.

Nwaba never reached the open market, the Chicago Bull snapped him up, reports Shams Charania of The Vertical at Yahoo Sports.

Nwaba is owed $1.4 million next season.

Nwaba brings energy and defense, and the rebuilding Bulls have the roster space and time to see how that works out. Nwaba is a strong on the ball and help defender, and on offense he runs the floor hard and finishes hard at the rim. However, he has absolutely no shooting range. Maybe that can develop some, his hard-nosed defense should get him some minutes and a chance in Chicago.
