Before the Memphis Grizzlies fired head coach Dave Joerger on Saturday morning, he had requested permission from the team to interview for the Sacramento Kings’ job. Now that he’s a free agent, they’re scheduled to meet on Sunday, according to ESPN.com’s Marc Stein:
Dave Joerger and the Kings are scheduled to have their first face-to-face to meeting Sunday about Sacramento's coaching vacancy, sources say

Joerger is a good fit in Sacramento for several reasons. The Kings don’t have a great roster, but look at the roster Joerger guided to a playoff berth this season. It was so battered by injuries that it featured the likes of Xavier Munford playing major minutes in the postseason. Joerger also got the best basketball out of Lance Stephenson since he left Indiana, which bodes well for his ability to connect with DeMarcus Cousins.
The Kings have a long list of names they’ve been linked to since firing George Karl in April, so their coaching search isn’t over by any means, but Joerger seems like a natural fit.
