Luka Doncic sprained his ankle nearly two weeks ago.
The Mavericks star is returning before anyone can fret over his timeline.
Tim MacMahon of ESPN:
Sources: The Mavs are planning for Luka Doncic to make his return from a sprained right ankle tonight against the Spurs. He has missed last four games and is officially listed as questionable.

Doncic’s return comes at a welcome time for the NBA. The NBA’s Christmas games were underwhelming. Doncic was the top MVP candidate not to play. Dallas was arguably the best team not to play.
As one of the NBA’s top young stars, Doncic attracts attention and enthusiasm.
The Mavericks played relatively well without him, going 2-3 against a tough schedule. They beat the Bucks and 76ers and lost close to the Heat, Celtics and Raptors. Dallas is deep.
But Doncic makes the Mavericks – and league – better.
