Video: Dunk of the year, Blake Griffin destroys Perkins

Sprite Slam Dunk Contest

LOS ANGELES, CA - FEBRUARY 19: Blake Griffin #32 of the Los Angeles Clippers dunks the ball as his elbow hangs on the rim in the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest apart of NBA All-Star Saturday Night at Staples Center on February 19, 2011 in Los Angeles, California. In a season plus of insane Blake Griffin highlights, what he did to Kendrick Perkins of the Oklahoma City Thunder Monday night may be the baddest a-- of them all.

This was better than the dunk over Timofey Mozgov. First, because Perkins went up and tried to contest it. Second, because it is Kendrick Perkins, one of the most physical, strongest paint defenders in the league.

LeBron James — who dunked over John Lucas on Sunday — tweeted this:

Dunk of the Year!! @blakegriffin just dunked on Kendrick Perkins so hard!! Wow!! I guess I’m #2 now. Move over #6

Kendrick Perkins took it in stride after the game, saying that if you’re a shot blocker “it happens.”

Just put this on a loop and replay it any time you need a little energy boost.
