Greene

With all the new guards in Boston, Greene became expendable.

Milwaukee was hosting a group of veteran players and Greene was among them. He played with the Nets last season on a 10-day contract before returning to the D-League.

Tucker has played in the D-League and in Spain, so he’ll land on his feet somewhere. The Bucks also waived Mustapha Farrakhan, Eddie Gill and Orien Greene, as they trimmed their roster to the 15-player limit.

“He can do a lot of things. He’s one of those rare guards that even without a good shot he can still makes things happen. He’s opening eyes; there’s no doubt about that. He’s opening eyes with his teammates, too. You can hear chatter. They know he can play,” Rivers said.

He’s been dealing with back problems most of the preseason and his back could be an issue all year.

He had just one point and will have no fantasy value this season. He left his last game with a stiff back, but it was better tonight.

Coach Doc Rivers decided to put Delonte West in the starting lineup to tip off the season. Dan Dickau will be the No. 3 man with Marcus Banks out of the picture now.

Dan Dickau is lacking on defense and Delonte West hasn’t done enough in the preseason to earn the job. However, we doubt the Greene experiment as a starter will last too long, and West should eventually have the job.

It was reported yesterday that Greene would be the starter, but that doesn’t look to be the case.

He’s not going to have any fantasy value this year even though there were rumors flying around two weeks ago that he would start at point guard for the Celtics.
