Peyton Siva (right calf) did not scrimmage with the team on Saturday.
The rookie is an afterthought in the Pistons rotation and might not even make the team. Siva was great at Louisville, but his lack of size is going to be a tough obstacle to overcome in the NBA.
  • Point Guard #34
Peyton Siva has a calf strain and missed some of Thursday’s practice.
It’s a minor issue for the NCAA champion point guard. Siva is buried on the depth chart and has no fantasy value.
  • Point Guard #34
The Pistons’ roster is at its limit of 15 players, which means Peyton Siva might find himself unsigned entering training camp.
The Pistons drafted Siva in the second round and he was expected to at least get a shot to make the roster. That was before the Pistons brought Chauncey Billups back into the fold, but GM Joe Dumars said the Pistons would still like to retain Siva’s rights. A source close to the situation told the Detroit News that a decision could be reached next week.

The Pistons have sent guard Peyton Siva to the Ft. Wayne Mad Ants of the D-League.
He’s likely to be there for a couple of weeks to get some much needed playing time, while the Pistons will play just six games over the next 18 nights.
  • Point Guard #34
Pistons rookie Peyton Siva logged a career-high 14 minutes off the bench vs. Miami, finishing with two points, two rebounds, three assists and three turnovers.
His move up the rotation was sparked by the combined absence of Rodney Stuckey (knee), Chauncey Billups (knee) and Will Bynum (hamstring). That should say plenty about his lack of sustainable value.

Peyton Siva has signed with ALBA Berlin of Germany.
Siva last played in the NBA during the 2014-15 season and though he’s still just 25, he’ll provide no fantasy value while he’s playing overseas.
  • Point Guard #34
Rookie PG Peyton Siva played under one minute during the Pistons’ loss in L.A. on Sunday, despite the absence of both Chauncey Billups and Will Bynum.
Siva had a glimmer of promise to begin the season, when Brandon Jennings and Rodney Stuckey were both injured, but tonight’s result neatly sums things up -- Siva is at the bitter end of Mo Cheeks’ depth chart.
  • DET Point Guard #6
Will Bynum (foot) is out again for Sunday’s game vs. the Celtics.
In addition to giving Peyton Siva a foothold in the rotation, Bynum’s absence means that Rodney Stuckey will spend some time as a backup PG. With the Celtics’ backcourt already running on fumes without Rajon Rondo and Avery Bradley, guys like Brandon Jennings and Stuckey have a golden opportunity to step up.

Coach Stan Van Gundy intimated Orlando Summer League would likely decide Peyton Siva’s future with the Pistons.
His contract would be fully guaranteed on July 12 for next season. The Pistons now have four point guards with Brandon Jennings, Will Bynum, Siva and second-round pick Spencer Dinwiddie. Siva will need to have huge summer league to overcome his odds at this point.

    Pistons waive G Peyton Siva.
He had almost no chance to make the team when the Pistons brought on D.J. Augustin, and they also drafted Spencer Dinwiddie. Siva may have a tough time making any NBA team next year due to his smaller size and lack of a jumper.
