The Wizards signed G Phil Booth on Monday.

Booth won a couple national championships at Villanova and is a Baltimore native, so this is a nice homecoming for him. He played for the Cavaliers in Summer League and will just be trying to make the Wizards’ regular-season roster as a two-way player.

Villanova G Phil Booth has agreed to play for the Cavs during Summer League.

Booth will vie for a spot in an NBA training camp, where he’ll try to turn his age (24) into an advantage as one of the more experienced guys to come out of college this summer. He worked out for at least 10 teams prior to the draft, and will get another chance to make an impression in Vegas.
