Sonny Weems will play in China in 2018-19, agreeing to a deal with Guangdong.
Weems, a former second-round pick by the Bulls, last played in the NBA back in 2016. He spent last season in Turkey playing for Anadolu Efes.

Sonny Weems, who will play in Lithuania without an ‘out clause’ this season, said he hopes to return to the NBA next year.
“I will be going back to the NBA unless I get an offer in Europe that I can’t refuse,” said Weems. He hopes that his experience as a go-to player in Lithuania will help improve his game at the NBA level, where in three years he averaged 7.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists.

The Raptors have extended a qualifying contract offer to G/F Sonny Weems, making him a restricted free agent.
By extending the qualifying offer to Weems, the Raptors will now be able to match any offer on him. Even though Weems played last season in Lithuania, the Celtics, Cavs, Pistons and Clippers all reportedly expressed interest in signing him before the draft, but it remains to be seen which teams are still interested. Weems is still only 25 years old and could provide swing man help to several NBA teams.

Sonny Weems signed a three-year contract with CSKA Moscow on Sunday.
Weems signed with a team in Lithuania last season, averaging 15.5 points in 30 minutes per game. The Raptors withdrew a $1.1 million qualifying offer for Weems this summer and he obviously had much greater appeal in the EuroLeague.

The Grizzlies are in the market for a scoring guard and a backup PG, and reportedly have interest in Willie Green, Jodie Meeks, Jordan Farmar, Sonny Weems and Jerryd Bayless.
Farmar is expected to sign overseas, so we can strike him from this list. Memphis was shot down by Ray Allen and Jason Terry, and they are now limited to the $3.1 million mini-mid-level exception, so GM Chris Wallace is targeting guys he can actually sign. “All the people we’re talking to have a track record,” said Wallace. “Have they made all-star teams? No. But how many free agents out there have?”

The Raptors have withdrawn their qualifying offer for Sonny Weems, making him an unrestricted free agent.
The QO was worth $1.1 million, but it seems the Raptors decided they wouldn’t even want him on a one-year deal. A handful of teams have expressed interest in Weems, including the Cavaliers, Celtics, Clippers and Pistons.

Restricted free agent Sonny Weems, who played this season in Lithuania this year, is set to return to the NBA next season.
The Celtics, Cavs, Pistons and Clippers have all reportedly expressed interest in Weems, but it’s still incredibly early in the process. He shouldn’t have trouble finding a new home in free agency, and it will be interesting to see what type of offer he receives. He’ll still be just 26 years old when next season begins.

Sonny Weems has signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv of Israel.
Weems’ deal is for $3 million over two seasons and it looks unlikely that he’ll be back in the NBA as he turns 30 this summer. He didn’t have any fantasy value before this signing, so this news shouldn’t shake up any draft boards.

The Suns signed Sonny Weems to a two-year deal worth $5.8 million
He was in Russia last year and wanted to get back into the NBA. Weems is 27 years old and hasn’t been in the league since 2010-11, averaging just 9.2 points and 2.6 boards in 23.9 minutes per game during that season. He’ll need to play very well to get in the rotation.

Former Raptors swingman Sonny Weems is reportedly leaving CSKA Moscow to pursue an NBA contract.
It’s a bold move for the 27-year-old Weems, who is “leaving around $6 million on the table in Russia.” Weems averaged 13.1 points in 26.9 minutes per game with CSKA last season, and seems to have improved his shooting range -- he made 37.1 percent of his 3-pointers last year after making only 24.1 percent in three NBA seasons from 2008-2011. He’s not currently on the fantasy radar.
