London said the team remains focused on free agency and adds that an extension for London, along with RB Bijan Robinson, may not receive more focus until after the draft. London is in the final year of his rookie contract and caught 68 passes for 919 yards and seven touchdowns last season. The former No. 8 overall pick has one 1,000-yard season on his resumé and has dealt with a mixed bag at quarterback since entering the league in 2022. This is the second time this offseason that Cunningham has mentioned extending London, so we would expect a deal to get done sooner than later.
  • ATL Quarterback #9
Given the nature of Penix’s injury, its timing (Week 11), and his lengthy history of significant lower-body injuries, the decision not to rush him back is probably a good one. Stefanski, who is now with his second team and still in search of an answer at quarterback at either of his stops, went out and added Tua Tagovailoa to his quarterback room this offseason. Tagovailoa figures to have the inside edge on being named the Week 1 starter due to Penix’s injury, but barring a spectacular development in which Tagovailoa cements himself as the unquestioned QB1 on the team, we would still expect to see Penix on the field at some point in 2026 when healthy. Penix is only four months removed from his surgery for a torn ACL, which can take anywhere from six to 12 months to come back from. He could be a candidate to open camp on the PUP list depending on how the next few months go.
  • ATL Quarterback #9
The Falcons’ 2026 training camp dates have not yet been released. Last year’s training camp began on July 24th to August 13th. Wolfe somewhat casually broke the news while discussing the Falcons’ impending quarterback competition between Penix and QB Tua Tagovailoa. Penix underwent surgery to reconstruct a partially torn ACL after suffering the injury in November 2025. Tagovailoa will get to work with the first-team offense until Penix is ready to practice, which could give Tagovailoa an edge in the competition. It seems likely that both players will start at times during the regular season, perhaps warranting QB2 consideration.
  • ATL Running Back #31
Goodson was slated to be a restricted free agent, but the Colts balked. He’s a decent third-down back, but behind Bijan Robinson he figures to offer little fantasy value in his age-26 season. At least his last name isn’t also “Robinson,” unlike some backups in this backfield.

How much the 28-year-old Tagovailoa can mentor the soon-to-be-26-year-old Penix is anyone’s guess, but it sounds like Tua and Penix will have a working relationship as they compete for the Falcons’ Week 1 starting gig. “I look at myself when I was a rookie and I was very grateful for the chance that I had with someone like Ryan Fitzpatrick,” Tagovailoa told reporters Monday in his first comments since signing with Atlanta. “I think whatever I can do to help Mike’s game will help me because if I’m helping getting him better, it’s helping me get better, vice versa, we’re then helping the team get better. ... It’s the collection of what’s best for the team, not just the individual.” It remains to be seen whether Penix, coming off his latest major knee injury, will be ready for the regular season opener. That could leave Tua as the default starter in Kevin Stefanski’s offense. " Tua in 2025 ranked 31st out of 37 qualifying quarterbacks in drop back success rate, just below Tyler Shough and Justin Fields. Penix, meanwhile, was 18th in success rate, in line with Jaxson Dart.
  • ATL Running Back #3
It’s backup money, and Robinson will now caddy for Bijan Robinson after spending the 2025 season behind Christian McCaffrey. It’s not great news for Robinson’s fantasy prospects barring an injury to Robinson. It’s also not incredible news for Robinson’s fantasy prospects that the Falcons managed to replace Tyler Allgeier with an above-average backup that is worthy of work. What it is? A good signing for the price by a team that needed another running back. And a confusing grouping of B.Robinsons for inexperienced fantasy football managers to have to remember.
  • ATL Quarterback #15
Siemian hasn’t actually played a regular season snap since 2023, but was with the Titans in the 2025 offseason and wound up as part of their practice squad. Entering his age-34 season, Siemian is just a depth add at this point, albeit one that may have a roster spot early depending on Michael Penix’s health.
  • NYG Defensive Tackle #99
Roberts appeared in five games for the Falcons last season after being claimed off the Falcons’ practice squad. The former sixth-round pick totaled a career-high 18 tackles, one TFL, and one sack in limited action and will now get a chance to battle for a spot on the Giants’ 53-man roster this offseason.
  • CAR Tight End #84
Franks logged 15 snaps offensively last year, but earned zero targets. He logged 283 special teams snaps and racked up nine special teams tackles, ranking second among Falcons players. He is likely to operate in a similar capacity on the Panthers this season.
  • ATL Safety #21
Brown is a hard-hitting safety and special teams player. He suffered a torn ACL in 2023 and returned to action in Week 7, 2024. As a defender last year, he recorded 28 solo tackles and racked up the Eagles’ third-most special teams tackles with 11. Per Schefter, the Eagles get the 114th and 197th overall picks in the 2026 NFL Draft. The Falcons get Nos. 122 and 215.
