Murphy is expected to start the season at dimeback, while McRae looks to be a practice squad player.

The Mississippi State product scored a 60-yard touchdown during Saturday’s scrimmage and also had a 20-yard grab called back by penalty. “He’s a big wide receiver that’s been making plays,” coach Steve Spagnuolo said. “He’s a young guy who’s got a lot to learn. But he’s done some good things.” The Rams will likely be able to stash McRae on their practice squad this year.

Johnson, a seventh-round pick out of Alabama’s secondary factory, is a practice squad candidate. McRae was making plenty of plays at camp and has good size at 6'4/205. He’ll also likely land on the practice squad.
