These one day contracts are getting out of control. Mitchell did not play last season, but retires the NFL’s all-time leader in total yards. It’s hard to imagine a return specialist making the Hall of Fame, but Mitchell will get consideration.

Good idea by the Giants. Mitchell, 35, had an absolutely miserable season with the Giants after signing a four-year deal last March. The NFL’s all-time leader in total yards will manage to find a job somewhere, but he’s nearing the end of the road.
