Rams selected Concordia-St. Paul OLB Chris Garrett with the No. 252 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Garrett (6'4/241) is one of 2020’s small-school stars, earning the Associated Press’ nod for first-team All-America for the D2CCA as a three-year starter at Concordia St. Paul. More than anything, Garrett is a playmaker off the edge. He earned 36.5 sacks and forced a DII-record 15 forced fumbles across his collegiate career. Garrett’s smooth hips (7.15-second 3-cone) gave him a major advantage over DII offensive tackles in the passing game, but his bend admittedly won’t be special relative to NFL athletes. He’s a developmental speed-rushing OLB who could become a decent third-down specialist.
