Lions signed CB Roger McCreary, formerly of the Rams, to a one-year contract.
The Titans traded McCreary to the Rams in late October last year. He spent the prior three-plus seasons with the Titans, who drafted him as a second-round pick in 2022. He primarily lined up as a perimeter cornerback during his rookie season before transitioning to a slot-heavy role after that. He logged just three perimeter snaps last year, while lining up over the slot 297 times and in the box 49 times. PFF credits him with one interception, one forced incompletion, 28 solo tackles, four quarterback pressures and one sack in 2025. Although Lions S Brian Branch contributes as a slot-coverage defender, the Lions lost starting slot CB Amik Robertson in free agency. McCreary is a candidate to earn the starting slot cornerback role this season.
  • DET Tight End #83
Lions signed TE Tyler Conklin, formerly of the Chargers.
Conklin, 30, caught just 7-of-10 targets for 101 yards last year. He dealt with an early-season knee injury, but was ultimately just outplayed by rookie TE Oronde Gadsden. Conklin will likely serve as a steady depth option for the Lions. He does not appear to be fantasy-relevant at this stage in his career.
  • DET Safety #29
Lions agreed to terms with S Christian Izien, formerly of the Bucs, on a one-year contract.
Izien started 10 games for the Bucs in 2024. He was credited with just one start in 2025 and his tackle total fell from 75 to 25. He did, however, pick up more work on special teams. Izien will likely continue to play a mix of defense and special teams in Detroit.
  • DET Quarterback #16
Lions restructured QB Jared Goff’s contract.
The move lowers Goff’s 2026 salary cap hit from $55 million to just $15 million and adds a void year in 2030. It allows the team to get under the salary cap before today’s deadline. In 2024 Goff, 32, signed a four year extension that included $170 million in guaranteed money — one of the richest contracts in the history of the NFL. Since the start of the 2024 season, Goff ranks fifth among all QBs in EPA per drop back and sixth in completion rate over expected. He has at least 30 touchdown passes in each of this past three seasons in the Lions’ efficient offensive system.
  • DET Quarterback #10
Lions agreed to terms with QB Teddy Bridgewater, formerly of the Buccaneers.
Bridgewater completed 8-of-15 passes for 62 yards with the Buccaneers last season as Baker Mayfield’s backup. The 33-year-old previously spent the 2023-2024 seasons with the Lions, not attempting a pass in one regular season appearance. The Lions bring back Bridgewater as a candidate for backup quarterback in 2026.
  • DET Cornerback #23
    Lions re-signed CB Rock Ya-Sin to a one-year, $4 million contract.
Ya-Sin first signed with the Lions last offseason and went on to play in 17 games, starting in six. He tallied nine passes defended and finished with a 64.7 PFF grade, good for No. 5 among cornerbacks. The Lions will bring him back as depth in the secondary.
  • DET Linebacker #44
Lions re-signed LB Malcolm Rodriguez to a one-year contract.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz was first to report the deal. Rodriguez made the team as a sixth-round pick in 2022 and has started 25 games in his career. He was a full-time starter as a rookie, but has played primarily as a backup since 2023. Rodriguez overcame a torn ACL he suffered in 2024 to return for seven games in 2025. He’ll likely battle for defensive snaps in camp but offers enough on special teams to stick on a roster.
  • DET Running Back #10
Lions agreed to terms with RB Isiah Pacheco, formerly of the Chiefs, on a one-year, $1.8 million contract.
As evidenced by his meager contract, Pacheco won’t have much of a standalone role in the Detroit offense. Pacheco was heavily rumored to be of no interest to the Chiefs on a return deal this offseason. He winds up behind a great line, but with no path to fantasy relevance beyond an injury to Gibbs.
  • CHI Wide Receiver #11
Bears signed WR Kalif Raymond, formerly of the Lions.
Raymond was mostly a role player and a special teams standout during his five years in Detroit. Last season Raymond had 24 receptions for 289 yards and a touchdown while drawing three starts for the run-heavy Lions. In Chicago, Raymond — entering his age-32 season — will likely function as a role player in Ben Johnson’s run-centric offense. He could see starter’s snaps if the Bears struggle with receiver injuries in 2026.
  • BUF Quarterback #8
Bills agreed to terms with QB Kyle Allen, formerly of the Lions, on a two-year, $4.1 million contract.
The deal has a maximum value of $6.1 million. Allen is an eight-year NFL backup with 19 career starts under his belt. The 30-year-old most recently played for the Lions and has attempted just three passes over the last three seasons. He reunites with the Bills, where he spent the 2023 season in Buffalo’s quarterback room behind Josh Allen.
