Cardinals tight end Eric Edwards’ pectoral injury may not be as bad as originally feared.
The Cardinals say he will wear a harness for the next 2-3 weeks and try to continue playing. The starter reportedly suffered a partial muscle tear.
  • WAS Tight End
TE Eric Edwards (torn pectoral muscle) could resume practicing with contact next week.

Redskins signed seventh-round TE Tyler Ecker to a four-year, $1.73 million contract.
Ecker isn’t overly athletic, is 25 years old, and never topped 21 catches in a college season. The possible blocking tight end will battle one-time Arizona starter Eric Edwards in training camp to be Washington’s No. 3 tight end.

Eric Edwards is Arizona’s projected starter at tight end next season.
The team may still look for a veteran free agent. They plan to signed undrafted free agent Adam Bergen from Lehigh as well.
  • WAS Tight End
Cardinals released TE Eric Edwards and T Jeremy Bridges.
Both were starters at one point or another. Edwards was ousted by rookie Leonard Pope, Bridges by newcomer Brandon Gorin.
