Ravens acquired CB Fabian Washington from the Raiders in exchange for a fourth-round draft choice.
Baltimore didn’t get Leodis McKelvin in round one, but secured a player with almost as much potential. Washington is only 24, about the age of several rookies, and has starting experience. We suspect Rex Ryan, Baltimore’s defensive coordinator, put in a call to his brother Rob to get his input. Washington will likely battle Corey Ivy for nickel duties in camp.
  • NO Defensive Back
Raiders CB Fabian Washington has reportedly locked up a starting job.
Oakland might have the fastest secondary in the NFL this season. Time will tell whether the youngsters can cover and tackle.
  • NO Defensive Back
First-round pick Fabian Washington has been a disappointment for the Raiders.
His progress has been slow. Not only won’t Washington start, he’s probably behind fellow rookie Stanford Routt on the depth chart.
  • NO Defensive Back
Raiders signed cornerback Fabian Washington, a first-round pick, to a five-year contract.
Washington is currently listed behind Nnamdi Asomugha on the Raiders depth chart, but we’d expect that to change. Washington is a blanket in coverage. He’ll find a way to start.
  • LV Defensive Back
Raiders signed CB Michael Waddell, formerly of the Titans.
Oakland is loading up on cornerbacks, quite possibly in preparation for a Fabian Washington draft-day trade. Waddell spent 2007 on injured reserve.
  • NO Defensive Back
Raiders traded up to select Nebraska cornerback Fabian Washington with the 23rd pick of the NFL Draft.
The Raiders are predictable in the draft: they take the fastest cornerbacks or wide receivers on the board. Lightning fast, and not great in run support, Washington should replace Phillip Buchanan in the starting lineup.
  • NO Defensive Back
The AP reports Raiders CB Fabian Washington will be questionable for Week 5 after re-aggravating his hamstring in Sunday’s loss.
Arnaz Battle could be a handy pickup if Washington sits.
  • NO Defensive Back
The San Francisco Chronicle reports that CB Fabian Washington (hamstring) has already been ruled out for Week 5.
Coach Art Shell reportedly said CB Tyrone Poole will start in Washington’s place against the 49ers, which is a major downgrade.
  • NO Defensive Back
Updating previous reports, second-year CB Stanford Routt will replace injured Fabian Washington (hamstring) in Oakland’s starting lineup.
The Raiders like Routt’s speed, which could help if they assign him to cover 49ers WR Antonio Bryant.
  • NO Defensive Back
Raiders starting CBs Fabian Washington (hamstring) and Nnamdi Asomugha (foot) are both probable on the team’s Week 4 injury report.
It’s not great news for Cleveland wideouts. Washington and Asomugha, both former first-round picks, have been playing well this season. Oakland is currently second in the league in pass defense.
