Alex Marvez of The Sporting News reports the Broncos are expected to hire Geep Chryst as their TEs coach.
Chryst was out of the league last year but served as the Niners’ OC under Jim Tomsula in 2015. If he joins the Broncos, Chryst will be reunited with OC Mike McCoy, who he worked alongside for three seasons in Carolina. Chryst has five years of experience as an NFL TEs coach.

Broncos hired Geep Chryst as TEs coach.
He’s taking over for Brian Pariani, who was fired after the season. Chryst’s last coaching job was as the 49ers’ offensive coordinator in 2015. He previously served as a TEs coach in Carolina for five years, overlapping with current Broncos OC Mike McCoy.

    49ers fired OC Geep Chryst.
Chryst was one of 10 Niners assistant coaches let go on Monday. QBs coach Steve Logan, DBs coach Tim Lewis and DL coach Scott Brown were also shown the door. San Francisco finished 31st in total yards in Chryst’s lone season as offensive coordinator. Chryst will likely resurface as a position coach.

NFL Network’s Albert Breer reports the 49ers are expected to promote QBs coach Geep Chryst to offensive coordinator.
This was expected when the 49ers hired Steve Logan as QBs coach. San Francisco is staying in-house after Rob Chudzinski re-signed with the Colts. Chryst has coached the 49ers’ quarterbacks the last four seasons and has limited playcalling experience, but did serve as the Chargers’ OC from 1999-2000. It’s not an exciting hire for a team that already has an unproven coach in Jim Tomsula. The 49ers’ coaching staff has taken a big step back this winter.
