Giants signed EDGE Habakkuk Baldonado.
Baldonado (6’4/251) is a native of Rome, Italy where he played soccer until age 15 when he started playing American club football. Played five years at Pitt, cresting in 2021 when he earned Second Team All-ACC recognition and recorded 9.0 sacks. His moveset and counters are based on power but he lacks the speed and agility to challenge the edge. He does a good job posting up and taking on blockers for a 250-pounder and was awarded a commendable 75.3 PFF run defense grade last year. With such a late start acclimating to the game and a lack of elite movement skills, Baldonado will try to hook on with a team that is looking for an aggressive edge setter who can still move around.
