Seahawks re-signed WR Jazz Ferguson to their practice squad.
The Seahawks were able to stash him on their taxi squad after Ferguson passed through waivers unclaimed. Though he didn’t show enough to crack the 53-man roster, the undrafted Northwestern State product brings plenty of size (6'5"/227) and athleticism (4.45 forty) to the table. He’s an interesting long-term project for the Seahawks.

    Seahawks waived WR Jazz Ferguson.
Ferguson possesses a gaudy combination of size (6'5/227) and speed (4.45 forty), but he battled drops throughout training camp and failed to lock down a roster spot. He caught 7-of-12 targets for 119 yards and a touchdown in the preseason.

Seahawks WR Jazz Ferguson showed up to rookie minicamp at 240 pounds.
Ferguson reportedly hasn’t looked as fast as his 4.45 40-time indicated considering he played at 227 pounds in his final collegiate year. He’s also dropped numerous passes while attempting to flash in the absences of fourth-rounder Gary Jennings and seventh-round slot prospect John Ursua. Ferguson remains on the outside looking in even with Doug Baldwin likely retiring in the coming weeks.

Seahawks signed Northwestern State WR Jazz Ferguson.
Ferguson (6’5/228) spent two seasons at LSU as a four-star recruit before failing a drug test and transferring to Northwestern State for his final college year, amassing a 66/1,117/13 (16.9 YPR) receiving line and earning Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Year before turning pro. Built like Plaxico Burress at 228 pounds with left-tackle-like 34 ¼-inch arms, Ferguson blazed 4.45 with a 37-inch vertical at the Combine, but showed poor short-area agility with a 7.25 three-cone time and 4.59 shuttle. Ferguson is worth a flyer based on his size and speed, but he has a long way to go as a route runner and carries obvious off-field concerns.
