Vikings declared QB Shaun Hill, WR Ryan Hoag, LB Chris Claiborne, C Cory Withrow, T Adam Haayer, TE Jeff Dugan, DT Spencer Johnson, and DE Darrion Scott inactive for week seven.
  • NYJ Running Back
Vikings FB Tony Richardson suffered an MCL sprain in Sunday’s game.
Richardson, who currently leads the NFC Pro Bowl balloting at his fullback spot, would be replaced by Jeff Dugan if he can’t face the Giants Sunday.
  • MIN Running Back
Jeff Dugan will be the Vikings’ starting fullback going forward.
The converted tight end got the nod over Richard Owens. Dugan is unlikely to be as effective a lead blocker as Tony Richardson was.
  • MIN Running Back
Vikings signed TE/FB Jeff Dugan to a five-year contract extension.
Now under contract through 2011, the third-year man can make up to $5 million over the course of the deal. Dugan has stepped into Tony Richardson’s role as the Vikings’ lead blocker and seems to have found his niche.
  • MIN Running Back
    Vikings released TE/FB Jeff Dugan.
The blocking specialist recorded 27 catches for 191 yards and three touchdowns over seven seasons in Minnesota. He was due just $775,000, so this looks to be a performance related move.
