Former NC State redshirt junior DE Jeffrey Gunter transferred to Coastal Carolina.
Reunited and it feels so good. Gunter (6'4/260) began his career with the Chanticleers before transferring to NC State last winter. He took a redshirt while sitting out the 2019 campaign due to NCAA rules. During his last on-field collegiate campaign back in 2018, Gunter logged 49 tackles (14.0 for loss), five sacks and a forced fumble. The redshirt junior is hoping to secure an eligibility waiver which would allow him to play immediately come the start of the 2020 campaign at CCU.

Juniore DE Jeffrey Gunter transferred from Coastal Carolina to Syracuse.
Gunter tweeted this news prematurely on Wednesday, but then deleted not just the tweet but his account. It’s official now. The 6-foot-4, 255-pound Gunter was an All-Sun Bet player in 2018; picking up five sacks and 14 tackles for loss. He’ll need a waiver to play immediately, but if he doesn’t procure one, he’ll be eligible to play in 2020 with two more years available.

Transferring Coastal Carolina junior DE Jeffrey Gunter is visiting Syracuse this weekend.
Gunter (6'4/255) arrived on campus on Thursday and will be leaving on Sunday. As he is moving on from the Chanticleers having not yet graduated, the junior will be required to sit out the 2019 campaign should he move on to another FBS outfit sans an eligibility waiver (it would not appear that he has cause for one, though the NCAA has started playing pretty fast and loose with these things). Whoever lands him will be getting a productive performer. This past season, Gunter earned first-team All-Sun Belt recognition after putting forth 49 tackles (14.0 for loss), five sacks and a forced fumble over the course of 12 games played.

Transferring Coastal Carolina junior DE Jeffrey Gunter tweeted that he’s headed to Syracuse.
We would link you to that tweet, but not only has Gunter deleted that tweet, he’s deleted his twitter account altogether. Assuming he does end up at Syracuse, it is a strong get for the Orange. Gunter was a first-team All-Sun Belt player after making 14 tackles for loss and five sackles over 12 games with the Chanticleers. If he gets a waiver, he can play for Syracuse in 2019, but if not, he’ll have two more years of eligibility starting in 2020.

Junior DE Jeffrey Gunter has transferred from Coastal Carolina to NC State.
Well, this is interesting. Gunter had originally announced that he was headed to Syracuse from the Chanticleers, but apparently that’s not the case. It’s worth noting that Gunter had deleted his previous tweets about transferring to Syracuse, but then made the announcement a day later. Point being, it seems like he wasn’t too sure about this decision. It’s a good get for the Wolfpack, as Gunter had 14 tackles for loss and five sacks while being named an All-Sun Belt player. He’ll have to sit out the 2019 season without a hardship waiver, but will have two more years of eligibility starting in 2020.
