The Saints auditioned four kickers this week to possibly take John Carney’s job.
They passed on Todd Peterson, Billy Cundiff, Nick Novak and Kurt Smith. Carney will keep his job for now, but his job status looks like a week-to-week proposition.
  • NO Kicker (FG)
John Carney connected on 4-of-5 field goals Sunday against Buffalo.
    Carney hit from 23, 40, 20 and 37 yards. He’s 9-for-11 kicking this season.
  • NO Kicker (FG)
NFL Network’s Adam Shefter reports that the Jaguars have signed John Carney to be their new starting kicker.
Mike Vanderjagt got a look, but ultimately didn’t get the job. Carney doesn’t have a strong leg anymore, but he’s accurate. There’s no need to pick him up in fantasy leagues.
  • JAC Kicker (FG) #3
Jaguars K Josh Scobee (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Week 6.
John Carney will start again. Scobee may be headed for injured reserve.
  • JAC Kicker (FG) #3
Jaguars K Josh Scobee (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Week 5.
John Carney will continue to kick in Scobee’s place. Carney has connected on all five of his field-goal attempts in two starts so far this season.
  • NO Kicker (FG)
Jaguars declared K John Carney, QB Todd Bouman, WR John Broussard, RB LaBrandon Toefield, DB Aaron Glenn, T Richard Collier, T Tutan Reyes, and DE Bobby McCray inactive for Week 11.
Josh Scobee and David Garrard both return to the lineup.
  • JAC Kicker (FG) #3
Jaguars K Josh Scobee is not on this week’s injury report.
It remains uncertain who will handle placekicking duties for Jacksonville, as John Carney is still on the roster. Neither should be counted on in fantasy leagues unless Carney is released later Friday or on Saturday.
  • NO Kicker (FG)
Jaguars released K John Carney and re-signed LB Jorge Cordova.
Carney, 43, didn’t do a bad job of filling in while Josh Scobee was out with a quadriceps injury, connecting on nine of eleven field goal attempts. He could get another shot from a team like Kansas City. Cordova adds depth and will play special teams with Mike Peterson (broken hand) out indefinitely.
  • JAC Kicker (FG) #3
Jaguars K Josh Scobee (quadriceps) is “very optimistic” he will play in Week 11.
Scobee has been out of the lineup since aggravating his quad during pregame warm ups in Week 1. He acknowledges he is not quite 100 percent, so be leery of putting up him into your fantasy lineup this week.
  • NO Kicker (FG)
After a workout on Monday, the Chiefs are expected to sign 43-year old K John Carney and release K Dave Rayner.
Carney made 9-of-11 field goals for the Jaguars earlier this season. He would have minimal fantasy value with the Chiefs, who lost confidence in Rayner after he missed four of his last six attempts. K Billy Cundiff also participated in the workout and could be signed to handle kickoffs.
