    Bears waived Josh Huston.
Don’t be surprised if another team gives Huston another chance. He was highly regarded coming out of Ohio State, but Robbie Gould beat him out for Chicago’s job.
  • NYG Kicker (FG)
Josh Huston will get a chance to compete with Lawrence Tynes.
Marc Hickok is not mentioned in the battle to replace Jay Feely as the Giants’ placekicker. Tynes is the clear favorite because of his experience and it doesn’t help Huston that he’s currently recovering from an appendectomy.
  • FA Kicker (FG) #1
Giants acquired placekicker Lawrence Tynes from the Chiefs in exchange for future considerations.
While he immediately becomes the favorite to start ahead of Marc Hickok and Josh Huston, Tynes is still a downgrade from Jay Feely. Consistently accurate from short distance but unreliable from beyond 40 yards, he could be worth a fantasy pickup when the Giants play at a dome this season.
  • FA Kicker (FG) #1
Lawrence Tynes missed field-goal attempts from 40 and 43 yards away in Saturday’s exhibition affair.
Tynes did nail a 40-yarder. Josh Huston sent a kickoff out of the end zone, but missed a 42-yard field goal try in the fourth quarter. This battle seems about even right now and will likely come down to the wire.
  • NYG Kicker (FG)
Giants waived K Josh Huston, CB E.J. Underwood, OL Todd Londot, WR Brandon London, and DT Tui Alailefaleula.
This makes Lawrence Tynes the likely kicker in New York, although the Giants will probably keep an eye on the waiver wire.
  • NYG Kicker (FG)
Free agent K Josh Huston will work out for the Chiefs this week.
Huston wasn’t exceptional in Giants camp, but it was still a surprise that Lawrence Tynes stayed on the roster over him. Justin Medlock is currently Kansas City’s starter but has struggled with accuracy in preseason games.
  • FA Kicker (FG) #1
Despite the lack of structural damage to Lawrence Tynes’ knee, he’s unlikely to be ready for the Giants season opener.
Tynes is likely to miss a “few weeks” after meniscus (cartilage) damage was found. Though Josh Huston is currently subbing, Jay Feely could be getting a call if Tynes is expected to miss several regular season games.
  • NYG Kicker (FG)
    Giants signed K Josh Huston.
He returns to New York after losing a camp battle to Lawrence Tynes last summer. Tynes is currently hurt and his return date hasn’t been determined.
  • NYG Kicker (FG)
    Giants waived K Josh Huston.
Huston didn’t kick well in his two weeks on the roster.
  • NYG Kicker (FG)
The Patriots will conduct a private workout for Ohio St. kicker Josh Huston on April 10th.
The Patriots don’t appear eager to sign Paul Edinger. They could also look at signing Seattle’s Josh Brown, who is a restricted free agent.
