Seahawks placed S Josh Jones (hamstring) on injured reserve.
Jones has been trending down from starter to part of sub packages for the Seahawks this year, but has carried a woeful 30.0 PFF run defense grade. He’s played 20 snaps in his last two active weeks. With Ryan Neal also hurt, it’s possible that waiver claim Johnathan Abram gets some run in Week 14. Jones will miss the next four weeks.

    Seahawks signed S Josh Jones.
Jones played 73 snaps in 2021 as he bounced around between the Colts and Seahawks. His last major playing time came in 2020, when he tackled well but finished with a 39.2 PFF coverage rating. The Seahawks are set at safety with Jamal Adams and Quandre Diggs, so Jones will again be functional depth. In a corresponding move, the Seahawks waived defensive lineman Niles Scott.

Colts promoted S Josh Jones from the practice squad.
Starting safety Khari Willis suffered a calf injury versus the Titans so the Colts are running thin on secondary depth. Jones was brought up from the practice squad in each of the past two games but he’ll now be a permanent member of the 53-man roster. He previously started 13 games for the Jaguars in 2020.

    Jaguars released S Josh Jones.
Jones, re-signed to a one-year contract in March, logged 700 snaps (63%) as Jacksonville’s starting safety last year, totaling a career-high 83 tackles across 13 games. There’s a terrific chance he slides into a nickel/dime package in Week 1 elsewhere given his veteran experience.

    Jaguars re-signed S Josh Jones to a one-year contract.
Jones logged 700 snaps (63%) as Jacksonville’s starting safety when healthy last year, totaling a career-high 83 tackles across 13 games. He presumably returns to play that same role in 2021 unless the Jaguars add to that position via the draft.

Free agent S Josh Jones worked out for the Patriots.
OT Caleb Benenoch, DT Carl Davis, DT Willie Henry and S Adarius Pickett were also brought in for workouts. Jones has visited a number of teams since being waived by Green Bay last month including the Bills, Lions, Patriots and Vikings. He should find a home soon enough.

Free agent S Josh Jones will visit the Lions on Tuesday.
It’s Jones’ third visit in the past week, previously stopping by to workout for the Vikings and Bills. The 2017 second-rounder has clearly been of interest since initially being waived by the Packers at the end of August.

Free agent S Josh Jones will visit the Vikings on Friday.
He’s also slated to visit the Lions next week. Jones broke bread with the Bills on Monday but left his Buffalo visit without a contract. The 2017 second-rounder has been looking for work since the Packers waived him last month.

Free agent S Josh Jones will visit the Bills on Monday.
This is Jones’ first reported visit since being let go by the Packers last week. The former second-round pick reportedly wasn’t happy with his role and wanted out of Green Bay anyway. Jones has compiled 126 tackles, three sacks and one interception over 29 appearances including 12 starts since arriving on the scene in 2017.

    Packers waived S Josh Jones.
Jones confirmed the news on Twitter. Unhappy with his role, Jones tried to facilitate a trade this offseason before eventually relenting by showing up to Packers mandatory minicamp in June. The 2017 second-rounder chipped in with 55 tackles and one sack over 13 appearances last year including five starts. He shouldn’t take long to resurface.
