Saints selected Eastern Kentucky OT Josiah Ezirim with the No. 239 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Ezirim (6’6/329) was recruited as a three-star defensive lineman, but he converted to right tackle for the 2022 season. He’s a five-year prospect who spent two seasons on the offensive side of the ball, making him relatively new to the position. That, combined with the fact he’ll be making the leap from FCS Eastern Kentucky to the NFL, could present a handful of challenges early on. Still, Ezirim put together a strong resumé for himself over the last two seasons, allowing just two sacks on 871 pass blocking snaps, and zero sacks in his final season. Possessing good size and athleticism, Ezirim has the potential to play tackle or guard at the next level. He simply needs more reps and time to develop to determine where he best fits as a pro.
