Harris has been a bust this season, recording nine tackles all year after coming over from Oakland in the Randy Moss trade.

An MRI yesterday revealed a sprained PCL, but Newman won’t need surgery. “Hopefully it won’t be too long, but he’s out for this week,” coach Mike Tice said. “That will be a tough blow for us.”

The Vikings said Newman is still “a ways away” from playing.

With Sam Cowart and Napoleon Harris in town, Newman will be a reserve this season for the Vikings.

Newman, who has zero tackles this year, is uncertain is play in Week 13.

Newman struggled with injuries towards the end of his short stint in South Beach. The 29 year-old never recorded a tackle as a Dolphin.

Henderson was involved in a nasty fight outside a Minneapolis club Sunday morning and could be looking at a suspension. The Vikings are expected to release tight end Steve Farmer, who reportedly started the altercation.

The linebacker indicated that he might be out until the finale against Chicago. “I would like to be out there,” Newman said. “But if it’s going to be a couple of games, we have more than enough capable bodies in the linebackers to fill the void.” Raonall Smith replaced him on Sunday.
