DE Kimo von Oelhoffen (hip pointer/probable), who was added to the injury report Thursday, practiced yesterday and expects to play.
This is good news for the Steelers defense with Kendrell Bell out again.
  • PHI Defensive Lineman
Steelers DE Kimo von Oelhoffen will start today despite being bothered by a sore hip.
Good news for the Steelers defense who will be without Kendrell Bell today.
  • PHI Defensive Lineman
Kimo von Oelhoffen (shoulder) was upgraded to probable for Monday’s game against Baltimore.
Von Oelhoffen sustained the injury last week against the Bengals. He’s got 11 tackles and one sack through six games.

  • PHI Defensive Lineman
Eagles signed DL Kimo von Oelhoffen, formerly of the Jets.
Von Oelhoffen, 36, doesn’t have much left but could contribute as a reserve in Philly’s interior rotation. He hasn’t played in a 3-4 for quite some time.
  • PHI Defensive Lineman
NFL Network’s Adam Schefter reports the Jets have released DL Kimo von Oelhoffen.
The Jets got a nice training camp from free agent pickup Kenyon Coleman, making von Oelhoffen expendable. He was one of a number of questionable Jets acquisitions last offseason. It’s impressive that the team made the playoffs with all the personnel mistakes (also drafting Anthony Schlegel, trading for Kevan Barlow, and starting Derrick Blaylock).
  • SF Defensive Back
The Eagles will not make offers to free agent CB Will James, DL Kimo von Oelhoffen, and FB Thomas Tapeh before February 29.
James lost his nickel back job to Joselio Hanson down the stretch in 2007, so his stock won’t be high. The Birds are looking for more of a versatile fullback than Tapeh. Von Oelhoffen, 37, has very little left to offer.
  • PHI Defensive Lineman
Eagles released veteran DT Kimo von Oelhoffen.
Rookie DT Mike Marquardt takes von Oelhoffen’s roster spot.
  • PHI Defensive Lineman
Eagles signed DT Kimo von Oelhoffen.
Now 37 years old, the former Steeler can help Philadelphia out as a fourth or fifth tackle off the bench. He’s a decent bet to make the team.
  • PHI Defensive Lineman
Jets signed DE Kimo Von Oelhoffen to a three-year, $9.2 million contract, including a $3.2 million signing bonus.
Von Oelhoffen, 34, is not a normal candidate for a rebuilding team. But he’s a solid 3-4 DE who can take on blockers with the best of them. He will start.
