Bears waived G/T Levi Horn, C Reggie Stephens and TE Andre Smith.
Horn didn’t appear in a game after being promoted from the practice squad last November. Neither Stephens (a former seventh-round pick) nor Smith has ever appeared in an NFL game. With teams now allowed to carry 90 players on their offseason rosters, it bodes poorly for any veteran’s NFL future when they’re cut loose in May.

Bears promoted G/T Levi Horn from their practice squad.
The project out of Montana has never appeared in an NFL game. Horn, who goes 6-foot-6, 320, will replace Gabe Carimi (knee, I.R.) on the Bears’ 53-man roster.

Vikings signed G/T Levi Horn, formerly of the Bears.
Horn was an annual practice squad project in Chicago, never making it into a real game. He’ll compete for a deep reserve spot on Minnesota’s roster.
  • MIN Tackle #78
    Bears waived G/T Levi Horn.
Chicago is apparently high enough on Horn that they plan to re-sign him to the practice squad. He’s a 6-foot-7 undrafted free agent out of Montana.
  • FA Running Back #44
Bears signed FB Eddie Williams, OT Levi Horn, OG Johan Asiata, DB K.J. Gerard, and LB Chris Johnson to reserve/future contracts.
Williams is an H-back type with soft hands, and may be in a direct battle with Harvey Unga to make the 2011 roster. Horn drew interest from other teams late in the season, so the Bears had to increase his practice squad pay and promise him a futures deal. OL coach Mike Tice likes his potential at 6-foot-7.

    Bears waived G/T Levi Horn.
Horn spent last year on the practice squad and was in camp on a futures deal. The 6-foot-7 former undrafted free agent will likely go back to the squad.
  • MIN Tackle #78
Bears signed G/T Levi Horn to the practice squad.
Intriguingly huge at 6-foot-6, 320 pounds, Horn spent all of 2010 on the Bears’ practice squad. A similar fate likely awaits him this season.
